Twenty years ago today Candy; the mother of my children, my first wife, died in a car accident. Following the recent unexpected passing of a friend's spouse, and thinking of what happened to my family and I; I wrote this:

A moment of a moment

In a moment, of a moment,
everything changes.
What was once granite,
becomes dust.
Our solid handhold;
sifts through our fingers.
We are left falling,
an abyss,
with no bottom.
It is the great injustice,
that defines us!
It is;
our mortality.
